Entrepreneurs will learn what place in the global insurance market is occupied by Lithuania, the difference between life and non-life insurance, what is reinsurance, how the insurance rate and insurance services are calculated and carried out, and activities of pension systems. Students will also learn the insurance business and emerging relationship between insurance companies, insurance brokers and policyholders.
The course is elaborated for students (SME managers and/or owners), seeking to acquire business de-cision making/risk management knowledge and necessary skills in order to excel in daily business risk taking activities.

The content of the course covers the most important and actual aspects related to investing and trading considered from the SMEs’ point of view: taxation related to investing and trading, transaction costs, infrastructure and process of investing, features of financial instruments available for investing, advantages and disadvantages of commonly used financial markets.
The aim of the course is improvement of level of financial literacy of persons involved into business environment through the reviewing the basics of structure of financial reports, financial analysis, categories financial ratios, financial analysis and planning processes and approaches, as well as development of related skills.
The business environment is turbulent and challenges the competitive conditions of any business. New product and process innovations change the way we conduct business, natural hazards expose economic assets and political turmoil create volatile market conditions and price developments. These circumstances require effective ways to manage the inherent risks and respond to the changing conditions. This requires an ability to identify risks, analyze exposures, monitor developments, and prepare for future contingencies.
